CALL ADMISSION MODELLING IN A MULTIMEDIA NETWORK

This paper studies the various call admission control schemes in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems and then model a scheme to manage the radio resources while maintaining the quality of service (QoS) in the network. To achieve this, the incoming calls are divided into real time calls where the reply is immediately needed like in voice calls and non real time calls where the reply may be given later like in the text messages. Analytical modelling (queuing theory) and a simulation environment in MATLAB were used to propose a prioritized scheme to manage the available resources.
